The practise of Yoga is to clear our minds of all the routine chatter and help us turn inwards on a journey of self-discovery and repair.
Meeta's retreat weekends are carefully designed to incorporate all of her many styles in a package of teaching that will send you home tired but exhilarated, stretched, and wonderfully calmed and relaxed.
Sometimes we have to be away from home to give ourselves the permission to really relax. In a retreat environment it’s a lot easier to meditate. No iPhone ringing or a boss reminding you about deadlines. It feels a lot more natural to breathe deeply and be present in the moment.
Being on a retreat allows you to listen to your body, rest when you need it, and be free from stress and anxiety.
You will meet individuals with similar interests. Even if you go alone, you have a chance to make friends with people who you might know for the rest of your life.
A retreat will allow you to return home with a refreshed appreciation of your life. You will feel happier, healthier and re-energised.
A weekend retreat with Meeta is a great way to de-stress and reset
The objective of this 2-day break is to enable and encourage each yogi to focus on their personal journey, through yoga.
We all have busy lives. We become 'full' and our ability to cope is affected by tension and stress.
This couple of days (Friday pm - Sunday pm) away with Meeta will enable each individual to detach from the daily routine, reflect, review and reset through the amazing powers of yoga and meditation.
Suitable for any level of practitioner, Meeta's retreats are a wonderful opportunity for yogis of all abilities to deepen their practise. With up to ten hours of yoga from a variety of styles including Yin, Classic, Strength, Pranayama and Meditation. Meeta will guide you through each practise session in her unique way - bending you physically and mentally until you meet your edge.
The retreat promises to be challenging yet light-hearted and fun, with plenty of chill time too. At the end of the weekend you will leave with a wonderful sense of achievement and exhilaration.

Park Place is a pastoral centre, run by a group of Indian Franciscan nuns
The community of Park Place is made up of Franciscan sisters, lay people and a Franciscan priest. Although Park Place is not a parish, at a time when traditional parish boundaries are giving way to "pastoral areas" the Centre serves to meet the pastoral needs of individuals and groups of all backgrounds and ages. We actively encourage people of different traditions, faiths and interests to explore differences, similarities, strengths and doubts. All who come here leave their footprints and positive energy on the Centre.
In recent years, Park Place has diversified its activities to include a conference and training venue, a retreat centre, bed and breakfast holiday facilities and a variety of creative activities and concerts. All these are in keeping with the central ethos of Park Place as a spiritual centre.
2021 is Meeta's sixth retreat at this beautiful venue. Although our group is not religiously motivated*, we have a lovely interaction with the resident nuns, all of whom make us so very welcome - one or two of them have even joined our classes from time to time!
* anyone is may join the Sunday morning congregation or speak with the nuns should they wish.
Unlike many yoga retreats which quite often spread the focus across several subject areas, A Yoga weekend with Meeta is focussed on the yoga.
The joy of our amazing teacher is in her unscripted versatility. Those of us who have followed her for a while all know that different classes bring different challenges!
The early-morning breath and movement; the energetic flow; the stretch of Yin; the bliss of Pranayama; the annual plank challenge! (HOW does little Meeta hold a side-plank whilst the strongest 5 of the yogis each collapse in turn??)
All meals are vegetarian and lovingly prepared in the Park Place kitchens
All main meals from Friday evening dinner to Sunday lunch are included in the price of the weekend.
Over and above the lovely meals provided by the Park Place culinary team, we will also be treated to Meeta's regular extras: fresh fruits, the famous vegan carrot cake, energy balls, Bombay mix. All mouth wateringly good!
Hot and cold beverages are available 24/7 (but you'll need to cater for your own alcoholic preferences!)

Single, en-suite room for each yogi
Each room is fully furnished with en-suite bathroom. Towels, and all bedding (duvets with extra pillows and blankets should they be needed). The accommodation wing has a 24/7 mini-kitchen space with kettle and fridge.
The group has the run of the (extensive) ground floor and we have a private lounge area with mini kitchen space and comfy high-backed chairs.
We have a dedicated space for our yoga practise where our mats/equipment can be set up and left for the duration of the retreat.
Kelly (who many of you know as a regular student in MeetaYoga classes) is a professionally qualified Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist and has given informal talks at our previous retreats.
For those of you who enjoyed these talks and would like to learn more or if you have toyed with the idea of seeking nutritional advice before but didn’t feel quite ready to take the plunge - this year she is very happy to offer fellow yogis the opportunity to have a free 30-minute one-2-one health assessment with her during the retreat.

What an awesome way to finish the weekend..
That's it. The yoga is done. We have eaten our fill, socialised for two evenings over a bottle of wine and maybe a game or two - and we have completed the whole gamut of Meeta's amazing teaching.
We're tired - but in a brilliant way. The stresses of our day-to-day life are a distant memory. Our bodies have been worked, we are stretched and perhaps aching just a little bit.
Now comes the final session before lunch and home: The Sonja Gundry sound bath.
Sonja has treated us to this very special session for the past 5 years and it has always been a big hit.
Just make yourself comfortable and lay back to enjoy a journey within. An experience not to be missed.

As we go to press with this retreat web page we have every confidence that sufficient numbers will sign-up and that the UK's recovery from Covid-19 will continue. During the event we shall of course facilitate all necessary social distancing precautions.
There remains the possibility that circumstances will require the event to be cancelled. Should this happen, all Yogi payments will be refunded.
